Easter is a big holiday in Mexico, and Ajijic is known for it's Passion
Play. A re-creation of the Crucifixion, takes place in various locations around Ajijic. Young men in the community are honored to be selected to
participate in the play whereby they are tied to wooden crosses and
are required to drag them through thru the streets and up the mountain
for the final ceremonies.
